American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story will be a Timeless Inspirational Classic.

The life story of the former NFL legend just has too much to teach the people of the world chasing their own individual dreams. The recently released biopic is a great movie to watch and kick off 2022 with.

The biopic film about Kurt Warner is simply amazing. The trials and tribulations the man overcame in life can’t be fathomed by the average person. I believe that adversity can be a great teacher. But what Mr. Warner endured and fought through, in pursuit of his NFL dream, was nothing short of extraordinary. The character, integrity and resoluteness of this man, during the pursuit of his dream to make the NFL, is incredibly admirable. And it is because of this, that his story will inspire millions.

Underdog could be defined as someone who has low social status or has little chance of winning a fight or contest. The odds are against them having success. Like really against them. In reality, the majority of the population might be thought of as underdogs. That is to say that relatively few people are able to achieve their big goals and dreams. Assuming they even have one. Even fewer may be able to accomplish meaningful upward social and economic mobility. You know, the 1% and the 99%.

The combination of hard work and some luck are nicely intertwined in this film. I love how the plot reveals luck, only after Kurt Warner faced some severe hardships in his life. The most moving statement for me was when Kurt quotes Denzel Washington by saying “sometimes you do what you gotta do so that you can do what you want to do”. Kurt Warner stocked grocery store shelves. He played in a circus-like arena football league. He did what he had to do to put food on his family’s table and continue marching forward towards his NFL dream. His life story shows the grit, determination and unrelenting efforts needed to move forward towards whatever big goals we might have in life.

That pain, failure and disappoint were so much a part of Kurt Warner’s journey to success, makes his story instantly relatable. His life’s pathway to success was not linear. It was marked by challenge after challenge. Yet, to use a useful football analogy, he kept moving the chains forward in his life. One down at a time. There are remarkable twists, turns, setbacks and triumphs in his story. It’s what makes biopics like this so captivating. Kurt Warner’s unwavering loyalty and commitment to his loved ones is also exemplary.

I truly believe this movie will be a timeless inspirational classic. Not just for American football or sports fans. The plot is so uplifting and universal, that it goes way beyond the pro sports backdrop. If you would like to start 2022 with an inspirational and uplifting vibe, be sure to check out American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story. You won’t be disappointed.
